Places are intentionally kept small to ensure plenty of practice time and individual guidance.
Training Content
This Thai Foot Reflexology training is designed to give you both the practical hands-on skills and the professional understanding needed to confidently offer reflexology treatments.
Across the three days we move step-by-step through the full treatment journey so that by the end of the course you feel comfortable welcoming a client, delivering a complete reflexology session, and integrating the therapy into your personal or professional wellbeing practice.
The training combines practical learning, theory, observation and real client practice, creating a supportive environment where you can develop confidence with the techniques.
Client Health Screening & Consultation
Every professional treatment begins with understanding your client’s health and wellbeing.
You will learn how to carry out a clear and supportive client consultation process, including:
• how to gather relevant health information
• identifying contraindications or precautions
• adapting treatments where needed
• communicating with clients about expectations and outcomes
This section helps ensure your reflexology sessions are safe, professional and appropriate for each individual client.
Equipment & Treatment Room Set Up
Creating the right environment plays an important role in helping clients relax and feel safe.
We will explore how to set up a professional treatment space, including:
• massage bed and practitioner stool positioning
• towel use and client comfort
• oils, balms and reflexology tools
• lighting, temperature and atmosphere
• creating a calm therapeutic environment
You will also learn practical considerations such as therapist posture and positioning so that treatments are comfortable for both you and your client.
Foot Cleansing Ritual
In traditional Thai reflexology the treatment often begins with a foot washing ritual.
This simple but powerful step helps:
• transition the client into relaxation
• create a respectful beginning to the session
• support hygiene and comfort
• ground both practitioner and client
We explore how this ritual can be incorporated into a modern therapy setting in a way that feels professional and welcoming.
The Thai Foot Reflexology Routine
The heart of the training is learning a complete Thai Foot Reflexology treatment sequence.
You will be guided through a structured routine that includes:
• warming the feet and lower legs
• traditional thumb walking techniques
• reflexology stick techniques
• flowing treatment transitions
• balancing stimulation and relaxation
Throughout the weekend you will practise this sequence repeatedly so that it becomes natural and intuitive to deliver.
Pressure Point Mapping
Reflexology is based on the idea that areas of the feet correspond to systems and structures throughout the body.
During the training you will learn:
• the reflexology map of the feet
• where key reflex points correspond to areas of the body
• how to stimulate reflex points safely and effectively
• the difference between stimulating and soothing techniques
This knowledge allows you to deliver treatments that are purposeful, structured and deeply relaxing.
Introduction to the Art of Foot Reading
Foot reading is an observational skill used in many reflexology traditions.
You will be introduced to how practitioners sometimes observe:
• skin texture and tone
• foot structure and shape
• tension patterns
• areas of dryness or sensitivity
These observations can sometimes provide insight into areas of tension or imbalance within the body and help guide the practitioner’s attention during treatment.
Introduction to Guided Relaxation for Clients
Reflexology works deeply with the nervous system, and helping a client relax at the beginning of the session can significantly enhance the effects of the treatment.
You will learn simple guided relaxation techniques such as:
• settling the client’s breath
• short grounding instructions
• supportive verbal cues during treatment
These techniques help clients move into a parasympathetic “rest and repair” state, allowing the reflexology work to be even more effective.
Trauma-Informed Practice
Creating a safe and respectful environment is essential in any bodywork practice.
The training includes an introduction to trauma-informed principles, including:
• informed consent
• respectful communication
• client autonomy and choice
• recognising signs of nervous system activation
These approaches help ensure that treatments feel supportive, empowering and client-led.
Marketing & Sharing Your New Skill
For participants who wish to offer reflexology professionally, we will also explore simple ways to introduce the therapy into your work.
Topics include:
• how to describe reflexology to clients
• integrating it into existing wellbeing services
• simple marketing approaches
• pricing and session structure
This section helps you feel confident turning your new skill into a valuable offering within your practice.
Therapist Self-Care & Sustainable Practice
Working with the body means caring for your own body too.
We will explore ways to support your wellbeing as a practitioner, including:
• practitioner posture and ergonomics
• using body weight rather than muscular effort
• pacing treatments to avoid fatigue
• personal self-care practices for therapists
This helps ensure you can practise reflexology in a way that is comfortable, sustainable and enjoyable long term.
Hands-On Practice & Real Client Experience
Learning reflexology requires practice.
Throughout the training you will experience:
• guided partner practice
• supervised technique development
• real client practice sessions arranged during the training
• feedback and support as you develop confidence
Sunday includes a mini practical assessment and certification session, where you will demonstrate the treatment sequence you have learned.
Your training manual can be used during the assessment, as the goal is to help you integrate the treatment flow rather than memorise it perfectly.
